Host
your neighbors over for coffee
... with Congressman Sam Johnson

There are two secrets to hosting a coffee:
- First,
you don't have to serve coffee.
-
Second, it doesn't have to be in your home.
"Hosting a coffee" could mean serving tea, juice or
wine along with pastries or other nibbles — pleasantries
you'd usually offer to guests.
"Hosting a coffee" could also mean inviting friends,
neighbors or co-workers to a home, office, community center, restaurant
or ... well, anywhere they might be able to comfortably
meet and mingle with Congressman Johnson.
Here are seven simple steps to host a successful
coffee:
 |
Decide
who you would like to invite — voters in
the 3rd Texas Congressional District are of particular interest,
of course. |
 |
Consider
dates that would be convenient for everyone. |
 |
Contact
the campaign to secure a date and time that will
also work for Congressman Johnson's schedule. |
 |
Two
to three weeks prior, send your invitation
by e-mail, postal or hand delivery and ask for an RSVP — make
sure that they know you're inviting them to meet Congressman
Johnson. |
 |
One
week prior, call your invitees and either
(a) thank them for having RSVP'd or (b) ask if they plan to
attend because it is important to you for them to meet the
congressman. |
 |
Plan
simple beverages and snacks. |
 |
Be
a gracious host, start on time, introduce your guests
to Sam and his campaign volunteers, let people mingle for
30 minutes or so, and then round up your guests for Congressman
Johnson to make some remarks. |
Even
if you're not yet sure if or when you'd like to host a coffee,
let us know that you're interested
and we'll follow-up with you.
